Access Controls

Magnetic door locks or door strikes controlled by card readers provide excellent physical security especially when used in conjunction with a monitored security system. At Alliance Security we pride ourselves in partnering with companies that hold themselves to the same high standards as ourselves and as such prefer to use Keyscan Systems Access Control Units (ACU) for all of our security requirements. Keyscan was established in 1984 and provides unsurpassed quality in their equipment as well as excellent customer service and technical support. Readers and locks are wired into the ACU which can be programmed by a computer either locally or over a computer network. This makes it extremely simple to change access cards and retrieve reports when necessary.

The most common card readers can be either proximity; that is where a card or keytag is presented to the reader, or swipe, similar to a debit machine. Swipe readers are much less common now as the cards have a tendency to wear out quicker and proximity cards are easier to use.

The software which is provided for Keyscan systems is very powerful and can provide options for such things as camera integration, DSC security integration and visitor management software to log visitors in and out of the building. A demo version of the software is available to try if you wish.
